Record Setting Seven Lacrosse Players Named to USCAA National All-Academic Team

Seniors Chris Meiklejohn, Joshua Kirkpatrick, Konnor Oreskovich, Garrett Watkins and Seamus Dougherty, were joined by juniors Matt Dickinson and Nick Burdumy in being named to the 2024 United States Collegiate Athletic Association's National All-Academic squad.  The seven members named to the squad set the school record, besting the previous high of five.

In order to be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.50 or higher, and be a starter or a significant contributor to his or her team's success.

Meiklejohn was a standout on defense all three years and was a team captain as well this year.  He also was a three-year starter in football and ended his career as a four-time National All Academic team member (twice for each sport.)

Kirkpatrick was also a team captain this past year and was a vocal leader for the team all three years.  He also was named to the 2023 USCAA National All-Academic squad.

Oreskovich was one of the team's leading scorers, as well as a captain, and finished fourth on the team in points this past season.

Watkins capped off an incredible career while at Williamson.  A three-sport standout, he was three-time all-league wide receiver in football, a three year-starter in basketball and was a key contributor in lacrosse!  He leaves Williamson as a school record six-time National All-Academic Team member!

Dougherty also was a two-sport standout for Williamson.  He was a three year-starter in football, as well as a three-year starter in lacrosse.  He leaves as a four-time National All-Academic team member.

Dickinson was dominant on offense for the Mechanics, as he led the team in goals and points, after being one of the team's top scorers in 2023.

Burdumy took the team's face-offs and did an outstanding job. He also was a starting wide receiver for the football team in 2023.

The 2024 Williamson lacrosse team had a record-breaking season, setting a school record for regular season wins (11), most consecutive wins (11) and the highest regular season ranking, as they were ranked #2 in the nation at one point in the year.
