
Pair of Williamson Wrestlers Earn Outstanding Wrestler Awards at the Rutgers Rumble
Taking part in the Rutgers Rumble this past Sunday, several Williamson wrestlers had big days, but none had them bigger than senior Talon Pisarchuk and freshman Alexander Gamble-Williams, as both earned Outstanding Wrestler (OW) award honors for their work on the day.
Pisarchuk, wrestling at 174 lbs., went 3-0 on the day and was named the Outstanding Wrestler award winner for the upper classes. Gamble-Williams, who wrestled at 157 lbs., also wrestled brilliantly, going 3-0 on the day, and was named the Outstanding Wrestler for the lower weight classes on the day. He improved to 8-3 on the year, while Pisarchuk moved to 12-1. Both are currently nationally ranked in the latest ranking put out by the National Collegiate Wrestling Association. Pisarchuk is ranked #6 at 165 lbs., while Gamble-Williams is ranked #24 in the nation at 157 lbs.
Chase Whartnaby also had a big day as he went 3-0 as well. Jeremy Bony, David DiCampli, Chase Thompson and Liam Kernan improved their records by going 2-1 on the day.
Williamson next hosts Rowan University in a 12:00 P.M. start this Saturday.
