Second Half Comeback Falls Short
Williamson dug themselves too big a hole to climb out of in their Tuesday night home game against Delaware County Community College. Trailing by 11 at half, they would eventually find themselves down by 14 mid way through the second half. While a furious rally would allow them to eventually tie things up, they simply were not able to overcome a terrible shooting night in a 51-48 loss to the Phantoms.
In most games when you hold your opponent to 33.9% shooting, chances are you have a good chance of coming out on top. That is unless you shoot a paltry 28.3 % from the floor yourselves. That is exactly what happened to Williamson. While they played a solid defensive game in holding the Phantoms well below their season average for points, they simply could not ever get any kind of rhythm going on offense. In the end, that and 14 turnovers proved to be their undoing.
Ronald Johnson led Williamson with 16 points, while Robert Wiley added 12. Semaj Chery had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Williamson travel to Lehigh Carbon on Thursday at 6:00 P.M> before closing out their season at home on Tuesday, February 18 at 7:00 P.M> against Bucks County Community College for Senior Night.
