In order to take down USCAA Division I Manor College, Williamson would have needed to play a near perfect game. Sadly for them, their first half performance was anything but that, as they fell to the visiting Blue Jays, 73-63 on Wednesday night.
While most teams would be upset by turning the ball over 15 times during the course of the entire game, Williamson turned I over 15 times in the first half against their opponents. Throw in fifty-four percent shooting from Manor during the half and Williamson found themselves down by 18 at the break, 43-25.
The Mechanics settled down in the second half, turning the ball over just four times in the second stanza, and outscoring Manor by 8 in the second half, but the first half deficit was just too much to overcome.
Williamson was led by Robert Wiley with 19 points and eight rebounds. Ronald Johnson has 18 points and Semaj Chery added 14 points and five rebounds. A'Jaad White led the team with 15 rebounds, while adding three blocked shots.
The Mechanics look to rebound this Frida afternoon, as they host Christendom College in a 4:00 P.M. Eastern States Athletic Conference game.
