Make it Four in a Row for Basketball
While they started slowly, they were anything but slow the rest of the game as the Williamson basketball team put on a dominating performance Tuesday night, as they downed Luzerne County Community College 73-47.
While they never trialed, Williamson led by just seven at 21-14 at the 5:21 mark of the first half, before outscoring the Blaze 18-6 over those final minutes to lead 39-20 at the break.
The onslaught didn't end there, as the Mechanics would continue to come in waves and would stretch the lead to as many as 38 points at one point, at 73-35.
On a night that saw former Williamson player Vagiba Donzo as a starter now for Luzerne, the Blaze had no answers for the Mechanic defense, as Williamson forced 20 turnovers, had 11 steals, held their opponents to just 33% shooting and outrebounded them by 11.
Liam Rardin led the way for Williamson with 16 points and four rebounds, while Semaj Chery added 15 points and six rebounds. Rob Wiley also hit double-figures with 10 points and five assists. A'Jaad White chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Williamson has a stiff road test on Thursday, as they take on Delaware County Community College in a 7:00 P.M. start
