Mechanics Trounce Blue Jays in Nightcap
As close as their first game on Thursday afternoon with Manor College was, the exact opposite was true in the second game. This time around it was Williamson who came out on fire early, and they never looked back in a 14-0 victory over the Blue Jays.
Steve Gualtieri had five RBIs and Jacob Naumann pitched a complete game shutout to grab his second win on the day. He came on in relief and won the first game as well.
The win moves Williamson t0 13-6 overall and 8-3 in ESAC play. After hosting Patrick Henry twice on Saturday, they face a huge week in conference play next week-all on the road. They play a doubleheader at Central Penn on Tuesday, followed by a single make-up game at Bucks on Friday and then a huge season ending doubleheader at Christendom on Sunday.
With the ESCA standing currently as tight as they can be, every game will be big during that stretch, as the Mechanics try to gain a play-off spot. The top two teams in conference play go on to play a single game for the championship at a date and time to be determined.
