Trio of Wrestlers Named to USCAA National All-Academic Team
Three Williamson wrestlers were named to the 2025 United States Collegiate Athletic Association's National All Academic team. Seniors Michael Kling and Jason Tokolics, as well as junior Harry Asencio were all named to the squad.
The honor recognizes players that were starters or significant contributors to the team's success on the field, while maintaining a 3.50 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) in the classroom as well. Freshman are not eligible for the award.
Kling had a banner year for the Mechanics. He was a team captain and qualified for the NCWA Nationals for the second time in his career this past March. At Nationals, we went 3-2 and to cap off an outstanding career.
Tokolics was a three-year starter and a key member of the team's line-up all three years. He also earned USCAA National All Academic honors last season.
Asencio, also a repeat member of the USCAA National All Academic squad, battled through injuries to qualify for Nationals for the second year in a row, where he advanced to the Round of 32.
"I'm proud of all three guys," shared Williamson head coach Ron Frank. "Wrestling takes a huge commitment in the practice room, so for them to put the extra time in the classroom to excel to the level they have says something special about all three of them.
"We could not be prouder of them."
After struggling with injuries as a team throughout the season as a team, Williamson finished 5th out of 14 teams at the 2025 NCWA Mid-East Conference championships, before putting on a dynamic performance at Nationals where despite having just five wrestlers in the tournament, Williamson finished an amazing 25th out of 89 teams. Of their five national qualifiers, four return for next season, including national runner-up and All-American at 174 lbs. freshman Nurrideen Ahmad-Statts.
