Lacrosse Moves to #2 in the National Rankings, then Blanks Mercer
The Williamson lacrosse team moved up from #3 to #2 in the latest National Collegiate Lacrosse League Division II national rankings, and then promptly went out and proved why that was the case, as they dominated Mercer County College from start to finish in a 14-0 win on the road Wednesday night. The win sets up a big weekend ahead for the Mechanics, as they host St. Joes Friday night and then travel to #6 ranked Drexel University on Sunday night.
Against Mercer, it was all Williamson, all the time. The Mechanics controlled the game from start to finish. Their offense was unstoppable, while their defense managed to pitch a rare shutout.
Leading the way for Williamson was junior Matt Dickinson and freshman Seamus Bohannon who each scored four goals. Dickinson added three assists, while Bohannon added two. Sean Lohr added two goals, while Rob Wagner, Cooper Conroy, Konnor Oreskovich and Kaseem Cotton all added a goal. Jack Welsh pitched a shutout in net.
Williamson moves to 8-0 on the year and is still a game up on West Chester for the Liberty di
