
Mechanics Dominate from the Start in Win Over Del Tech
Anyone worried about a possible letdown after their take down of then NCLL #1 ranked West Chester University had those fears put to rest early on, as Williamson scored two goals in under three minutes to start the game, and the used a nine goal second period outburst to dominate Delaware Tech by a score of 16-5 on Wednesday night.
Matt Dickinson and Sean Lohr scored in the first two and half minutes to start for Williamson, as they raced to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter though, is where Williamson blew things open.
After Del Tech scored to make it 4-1, Williamson the reeled off four goals in a 3:38 span to essentially put the game out of reach. They then would add five more goals in the final 6:54 of the quarter to go up 13-1 at half.
Williamson then would outscore the Hawks 3-1 in the third quarter, before Del Tech would add three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to close things out at 16-5.
Matt Dickinson led Williamson with five goals and three assists, while Konnor Oreskovich added four goals. Sean Lohr, Rob Wagner, Seamus Bohannan, Garrett Watkins, Anthony Zollo, and Justin Minch all added goals for the Mechanics. In addition to Dickinson's three assists, Wagner, Lohr, Nick Burdumy and Josh Kirkpatrick all added an assist.
Williamson moves to 2-0 on the year. They are tentatively set to take on Lafayette College away on Sunday, although that game has yet to be confirmed. They next home game is next Wednesday, at 7:00 P.M. against Mercer County College.
