Mechanics Drop Home Opener to Undefeated Penn State Lehigh Valley

An extremely athletic Penn State Lehigh Valley squad showed exactly why they were undefeated heading into Tuesday night's game with Williamson, as they scored the first seven points of the game and never looked back, in posting a 70-51 win over Williamson.

After jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead, the Lions controlled the action for the entire first half, as they led 36-20 at half.  Williamson however, showed signs of life in the second half, as they scored the first eight points of the half to pull to within 34-28 at the 18:25 mark.  Unfortunately, that would be as close as they would get the rest of the way.  The Lions pushed the lead to 50-30 with 13:40 left before Williamson went on a 7-0 run to make it 50-37 with 12:25 to play, but the Lions took control for good from there on out in moving to 3-0 on the year.

While Williamson's shooting was off, the boards is there the Lions did the bulk of their damage, as they outrebounded Williamson 55-38 on the night.

Rob Whiley led Williamson with 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while Liam Rardin chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.

Williamson gets right back into action tomorrow night as they host Bucks County Community College in a 7:00 P.M> match-up
