Mechanics Drop Opener to Christendom

Williamson was locked in a tight battle with visiting Christendom College, trailing just 4-3 heading into the final inning, only to see the Crusaders break things wide open with a six-run seventh inning to pull away for a 10-3 win in the opening game of their doubleheader.

Home runs played a big part in the results of the game early on.  Williamson's Joshua Illing got the Mechanics on the board first with a solo home run in the first inning.  Christendom then would use two home runs, both two-run homers, to eventually go up 4-1.

Williamson would then add a single run in the fourth and another run in the bottom of the sixth to get to within 4-3 before the roof caved in.

The loss ends Williamson's seven game winning steak and drops them to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the ESAC.
